Mundane

The highlight of the week: Getting wireless in our house.

The lowlight: Our second load of stuff is still not here. I know when it comes down to it that’s a first world problem and not a real problem…but it bugs.

Also, I feel like I have a lack of things to post or talk about. Were in a new area, we don’t really know anyone, we don’t really know where the cool stuff is or where the cool people go…so I have very little to talk about, except some completely mundane moving-in details. Like our new microwave… It’s too big. Way too big. Disproportionately too big. Its like when you mix and match doll furniture in a doll house…we have a Polly Pocket kitchen with a Barbie sized microwave. For real. And since we bought it off of craigslist we can’t just return it. The husband went to get it and he called to warn me about it’s girth…but I was all better too big than too small. I was wrong. There are definitely ovens smaller than this microwave. It should be called a macrowave. Or a microtsunami. The thing is just too dang big! It’s embarrassing. People are going to walk into our house and think, if I had to pinpoint this family’s interests based on first impressions I would have to say these people are really into microwaving. Instead of a fancy new car or a nice set of golf clubs, B could bring his friends over to show off our manly microwave. I can see the menfolk gathered around running their fingers along the chrome, discussing all the bells and whistles. B will stand back with his feet apart, arms folded across his chest and say, You should see the way this thing handles a Lean Cusine, as all his new friends shake their heads wondering if their wives would ever go for such an extravagance. So yeah….thats kinda it. We’ve unpacked some boxes and bought a huge microwave.

If anyone in the San Antonio area is looking for a bigger-than-you-could-possibly-need microwave, let me know.
