Have fun on Halloween! Of course, I LOVE the photo…haha…those were fun times. I don't really think I've dressed up for Halloween since then. Trotwood is a sock monkey for Halloween this year and I was going to be a Monkey and Mr. Rochester a Sock (with the offspring of sock monkey) but we never got our costumes together. I'll be posting some pictures of Trotwood the Sock Monkey on our blog soon though! I'm excited to see your girls' costumes!ReplyCancel

Yes same thing for me, too! But I didn't have the older child thrown in the mix, so that is brutal…and my baby's nightly waking lasted until she was 7 months old. 🙁 Hang in there!ReplyCancel

YES. This happened between 3-4 months for my two. It's sooo frustrating because you just think "I KNOW you can do this, you're just choosing not to." If she isn't better in a couple weeks, let me know and she and I will have a little talk.ReplyCancel

yes they do. And whenever my baby (or toddler for that matter) do something totally crazy like that I try to remember "it's just a phase" And phases do pass.ReplyCancel

Oh wow, what a day! And what are herorine you are!
When you were a toddler, you went through a period of spilling things constantly and at the most inconvenient times, like right before we were leaving in the morning, often making us late for school & work. It seemed to be my dilemma, and scolding you just didn't work. Finally, no matter the situation, I resolved just to keep my cool and say… "Honey, please tell Mommy…"I didn't mean to spill my milk"…(even if it was spilled right into the basket of clean laundry!) Then it seems that B.J. and I often with your help would just clean up the mess. And then, as if by magic, the spilling stopped. I always believed later in retrospect that perhaps it was always my trial.

Please don't say "Things could be worse"…just breathe deeply and say "Things WILL get better!" (That's the only unsolicited advise you'll get from me, because you are such an awesome Mom!)

I thought of you yesterday, as I was visiting a different LDS congregation than my own. A man walked in, leading his wife by the hand. Well, she was holding onto his hand, which I could see, from his short-sleeved white shirt, was part of an arm, obviously not fully formed, and very much shorter than his other, whole arm. I don't think his wife minded, at all, as she was holding on, w/ her other hand, a cane, which proclaimed her to be legally blind. They were accompanied by a handsome teenage son, and lovely young daughter, and I thought how perfect a family they are. Obviously they both face physical challenges, but they haven't let it stop them leading full lives, completed by each other. I just can't help but think your little Lamp will be lighting many lives as she grows up.ReplyCancel
