Staying up all night used to be fun and exciting–usually entailing a concert, a cute new guy or a dance party followed by food and girl talk to the wee hours.
Unfortunately staying up all night these days means a sick kid. We had some sickies a week before spring break, then pretty healthy kids during spring break and suddenly yesterday I found myself with flu-like body aches and by evening Lamp was throwing up. At least sister is healthy I thought… until she joined the throw up party sometime in the middle of the night. Luckily the husband took the majority of the night shift since I was still coming off a sick day. Thankfully I’m feeling better. And little Lamp is finally sleeping… I really don’t think she slept more than 30 minute increments last night. Poor thing. Looks like we’re set for a day of TV, pedialite and chicken soup. I can handle that…

ps: If you have time watch this great video about a girl with autism overcoming some big obstacles… this Katy Perry song has been permanently endeared to my heart because of this video.
oh man, now i'm crying! yeah, that song means something different now – i think i will always associate it with that video and my own spectrum kiddo.
Oh man! It's definitely going around! I know exactly how they feel. Poor things! My weekend was full of jello, saltines and pedialite. Lame! Hope you guys feel better soon!
I dedicated this song to my son who has Asperger's and CP from the first time I heard it, I do believe that it fits kids with Autism to a "T".
Loved the video!!!! Go Jodi!
Hope you'll all get well soon! And oh, what a great video you've posted, thanks for sharing!
Finally got to watch this video, and I'm in tears. I loved that tiny smile as Jodi heard the crowd cheering for her right at the beginning. The song definitely has new meaning now
that is will's favorite song. he thought it was super cool that a kid was singing it. and even cooler when I told him how we can do hard things.
That was so heart-warming to see. Lovely little girl who enjoys her life despite the trials she is into.
