Generosity

Someone got her mocks last week and has been loving them every day since.  Really, they are the perfect shoe for her just like I knew they would be.  She still goes barefoot whenever she’s indoors because she uses her feet to eat/play/draw/do everything.  But when we’re out and about she loves wearing her big girl shoes.  They go on easily and look cute with everything.  We get compliments on them wherever we go.  When I opened the package I was surprised to find not one pair of shoes, but two.  I had expected to receive just one shoe in each size, but instead found two complete pairs of shoes in each size.  When I emailed to make sure it wasn’t a mistake they told me they just thought it would be easier for our family to have both sets of moccs.  I was already blown away by being chosen as a winner, but then to actually send two pair for no other reason than pure kindness and thoughtfullness?  I have to admit that generosity is a trait I have not always excelled at.  I know there have been times in my life I look back on and wish I had been more generous–with my time, gifts, money, myself.  This kind gesture certainly inspired me to think more about how I could do better at being generous.  I want to thank Susan and everyone at Freshly Picked once again for the pretty moccs and for being stellar people on the whole.  If you didn’t already love Susan and her goods, perhaps this story will inspire you to support her beautiful shop and equally beautiful heart.  (Too cheesy?  Sorry…)   Be sure to check out her super cute leather bolo ties and leather mouse pads…I think I need both!
