I had a great Art-a-Thon weekend. For some reason I wasn’t as excited going into this AAT, I think I was feeling less prepared and a little timid about the whole thing. However I’m really happy with the results. Is it braggy if I say I haven’t stopped looking at my paintings since I finished them? I did 5 small paintings this time, each on birch wood panels. They are approx. 8″x12″. The first 4 paintings represent and are named after a place that I have lived. The last painting was sorta extra credit from a photo I once saw online and just liked. I can’t tell you what these Art-a-Thon’s do for my well being.
Thanks to my handsome husband for making this possible.

Beautiful work.
Love them all! I am now longing to go back to Hawaii!
I have always loved your work dear. And no shame in promoting yourself and being proud of what you create! I am impressed as always. What a hubs to help out with the girlies so you can have a bit of "alone" time.
Well done! You should admire your work, it's beautiful! Love it… glad you got a concentrated period of time to be in "the zone", and create!
Love,
Mom
Wow, love those, Miggy! I can totally relate to the feeling of not always being excited about starting a new artistic endeavor. Then when you throw yourself into it, it's like, "Yay! The ideas are coming. Hey, I really am enjoying doing this!" At least that is how it often is for me. I am so glad that you enjoyed your time. What a hubby.
I am just curious. Do you go in a room and shut the door and paint? Do you paint out with the family, but your hubby remains in charge of your girls' wants and needs? Do you hafta cook during art-a-thons? Gasp! Here's hoping not! Ha! I was just curious.
Thank you so much for sharing, and this Texan hopes that one day we will see a painting entitled "Texas"!
I live in San Antonio now, but I grew up in Nebraska. Graduated in Lincoln, but spent a lot of years in Scottsbluff. Your painting captured the Nebraska horizon wonderfully. It makes me homesick! You probably have seen the paintings of Keith Jacobshagen. He does Nebraska landscapes with a whole lot of sky. Beautiful work!

I LOVE THEM. You captured the feel of each place beautifully.
Very, very impressed. You are a woman of many talents-
They are all really great, but I especially loved "Utah"…can't quite describe why but I really really loved it.
Thanks everyone!
Linda P. well in Cincinnati I had an actual room that was a closed off studio space. Here it's partitioned off with a wall of shelves, but not a space I can actually close a door to. It's not ideal, but it works. And B did a great job of keeping the girls occupied and out of my hair so I could work.
Laura–That's crazy! I lived in Gering during my childhood. Not many people are familiar with the greater Scottsbluff/Gering area.
And seriously, thanks to everyone for your kind comments.
Loved every single one. Especially the last one!! You need more art-a-thons!
rock on.
Great job. I can see why you would want to keep NY. It is fabulous. It totally reminds me of looking out over the Hudson in good old 3B.
BTW, your babe is adorable talking. I love little chatter-box toddlers.
Beautiful. I love New York too! They are all gorgeous.
