Bloomers

I don’t know why, but I’ve had baby bloomers on my mind lately and have really wanted to figure out how to make some.  {Oh wait could it be because I’m pregnant and I’m going to have a baby girl?  Hmmmmm….mystery solved.}  With the help of this tutorial {via Confessions of a Sewing Dork} I finished a couple pair yesterday.  The yellow polkies were my trial pair, and you know…not bad…
But these floral pink bloomers made with some vintage fabric {also used in Beanies quilt} may be one of my favorite things I’ve ever made.
Where baby girls are concerned you can never go wrong with a lil’ ruffle bum.
I’m still experimenting with the pattern–the pink ones are a little short waisted–but I’m popping these babies out like Pez, so I’ll prolly throw a few pairs in the shop.  If I do, I’ll be sure to let you know.  Or just check out the tutorial and try them yourself!
{Just a little tip from me to you, there was a part of the tutorial that wasn’t making sense to me, so I followed the directions by cutting out small pieces of paper first and that helped a lot.  Not that you’ll need it, but that’s what I do if I can’t quite figure out a pattern.}
