Multi Meal Recipe

A few days ago I came across a recipe in a magazine that gives you 1 big shopping list to make 5 meals all in one pop.  All the dishes are completely different, but share some of the same base ingredients.  It only took 2 hours to make 5 meals–3 of which I froze so that they would be super fresh when we pull them out later in the week.  Once again it wasn’t my magazine and this time it was much too long to take multiple phone pictures of–so I just asked my gym if I could borrow the magazine if I promised to return it.  No problem!  {I only tell you about all the ways in which I pilfer recipes from magazines so you understand that I don’t actually spend money on multiple magazine subscriptions, but still find ways to get the recipes/info I want}.  From this one meal prep I made Turkey Mini Loaves, Pasta Ragut, Thai Shrimp Soup and more.  So far all the meals have been really good and really healthy.  I really like the idea but before this recipe I didn’t know exactly how to tackle this–so I’m sorta wondering is this a thing?  Like is there a name for this and I’m just out of the loop?  I’m not sure I would do this weekly, but I would do this pretty often if it meant healthy, tasty meals in a short time.  Also, let me know if you want this recipe and I’ll email it to you.  {It’s from Self Magazine October 2009}.

*Update*
Self has the recipe online!
Go here for the shopping list
Then start here with the building blocks–this is the initial food prep.
Then you’ll see the recipe links to the right–once the building blocks are finished, the recipes are pretty easy to throw together.  Follow the recipes in order and use their tips along the way for effecient meal prep.  Good Luck!
*Notes:
–The only ingredient I didn’t use was almond milk–I just used regular milk and it was fine–use almond milk if you want to go vegan.
–The chipotle chilies in adobo sauce made some of the dishes really spicy {it’s not used in every dish}.  Probably too spicy for most kids–especially the chilies.  If you still want a little kick maybe use some of the sauce, but use with caution.
–They say each meal feeds 2, but we had left overs from every meal and there are 2 1/2 of us.
