One of the best surprises about Cincinnati is how much there is to do here with kids. It’s really great to have so many options on any given day. Hands down, one of my favorite places is a place called Happen Inc. It’s a non-profit art space geared towards families and children. When I first read that they have open studio sessions where you can come in sculpt and paint your own ceramics and pottery and then have it fired for free I was a little skeptical. But it’s true–this place is great and it’s F-R-E-E! Check it…
I dig the chandeliers and red velvet curtains.
I made the cup while Beanie was in charge of painting.
She is a very serious artist.
Since the paints were underglazes we didn’t have to wait for the clay to dry first. Our cup should be fired and ready for pick up in about 2 weeks….I’m sure we’ll be back before then. I really love that I can expose Beanie to this kind of art and medium at such a young age. Hooray for Happen Inc!
That is awesome. Where do you find out about these things? Maybe we can take the girls there when we come to visit.
Sounds phenomonal! Wish I could start something like that—or we had something like that around here…
That is great, I esp love her serious expression. But I just have to say it….she looks EXACTLY like Bracken! Is it just me?
I'm jealous… Free?!! That's unbelievable. I love how hard she's working on her project. Undoubtedly she'll be as talented as her mama, especially being exposed to such great opportunities for creativity so early on.
Wow! That's really great! NYC needs one of those!
Hey You!! Just catching up on your blog! You guys are amazing! I'm so glad you are having a good time in Cincinnati… may not sound as glam as New York City, but you definitely make it look glam!! I'll check out your etsy shop and see if I can support a fellow denverite back home! Luv ya, miss ya! ~erin & olive
