Freshly Picked

A few weeks ago I received a package in the mail from the wonderful people over at Freshly Picked.  I was confused… Lamp was one of their Moccs For a Year winner’s last year, but that was over and I hadn’t ordered any other moccasins.  I opened up the package to see five (5!!) pairs of beautiful Freshly Picked Moccasins.  I was still confused.  Surely this was a mistake.  Oh no, they accidentally sent me someone else’s order.  That thought lasted about 2 minutes before I realized that this wasn’t a mistake because Susan is one of the most generous people I’ve never met (yes, we’ve never met in person!) and of course she sent these over as a congratulations on our new little one.
Blown. Away.
Who does this kind of thing?
Generosity is not a trait that comes naturally to me.  But I have been inspired by Susan and her company’s generous nature ever since interacting with them last year.  As a direct result of her kindness I have made a conscious decision to try and be more generous and thoughtful with my friends and family.  Of course it’s a work in progress, but I really am trying.  And it feels great.  I know that when others have done something for me I think about that kindness for days!  It’s amazing how elevating it is to know that someone is thinking about you, and takes the time to let you know they’re thinking about you.  I’m so happy for all of Susan’s success (did you see her on SharkTank a few weeks ago?!?).  She exemplifies that famous little saying by Conan O’brien:  “If you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen.”   Thank you so much Susan.
I asked my friend Anita to come and take a few more photos of baby modeling a couple pairs of her new moccs.  I love these pictures! Once again they turned out beautiful.  Thanks Anita!
