Whew! It was a busy week. So happy it’s Friday.
When I don’t have a Special Needs Spotlight for Friday I try to have some Special Needs/Disability related links–which I have quite a few for today!–but I think I’m going to also include some non special needs/disability links as well cuz uh…I want to.
And consider this an official call for spotlights! Please, please email me if you or someone you know would like to participate in the Special Needs Spotlight. Even if your story is a little unconventional or different from what I typically feature, I’d love to hear it! Remember, I’ve interviewed siblings of people with disabilities, kids and families with medical conditions that are life-altering, and I always love getting a first hand account and interviewing a person who has disabilities themselves… and of course I always love interviewing a mom (or dad!) who has a child with special needs. So please email me if you or someone you know would like to participate at thislittlemiggy at gmail dot com.
Have a great week and see you next week.
XO

This one made me cry… “To hear that you were told you would’t be employable…and he’s excelling as an employee and as a person…I hope more people see this and see that you can hire people that you think you shouldn’t hire.” YES.
“It’s not an illness…it’s not even a disability….We have the ability to teach things and we have the ability to learn, and a well educated man does not have more to teach than my son.” Another tear jerker and so very well said.
When Lamp was first born seeing Gabe’s story on the news really helped me know that everything was going to be OK. Gabe’s now in high school and I love seeing him accomplishing goals and doing cool stuff. Also, I’m grateful Gabe goes to a high school that sees and encourages his abilities…I hope this becomes the norm for all kids and all places of learning.
Well this takes me straight back to high school–who else used to rock out to this band, and this song in particular?
This is impressive…one leg or not.
So is this! I have a lot of limb difference links this time…so yay.
Kudo’s to this mom for her invention…I would love to see some of these in every grocery and department store.
I’m weirdly excited for this reboot even though I can’t say I was a huge fan of the show the first time around. Anyone else feeling this way?
Yes! I used to rock out to that song too! Love this version.
