I came upon this talk, Things As They Really Are, by Elder Bednar about a week ago and can’t get it out of my mind. It was given just a couple months ago and it seems, just in time. Being in this crazy age of digital media and being among the first generation to witness the transition to the on line/logged on/plugged-in childhood I think this talk is invaluable. Particularly as we start to parent our children in a vastly different world than the one we grew up in. One of my favorite quotes:
Lucifer will encourage you to misuse and to minimize the importance of your physical body. He will attempt to substitute the monotony of virtual repetition for the infinite variety of God’s creations and convince us we are merely mortal things to be acted upon instead of eternal souls blessed with moral agency to act for ourselves.
Now that’s some good, hearty truth talkin’ right there.
