See this pretty pile of fabric… it’s going to be my first quilt project. I’m excited. But since 2 of the fabrics are vintage bed sheets I almost didn’t want to cut them up. Particularly because of the old school edging I sorta wanted to keep them in tact. However, I’ve recently been introduced to the idea that if you don’t want to let go of something just take a picture instead. So here’s my picture of the original linens showing the old school edging.
Aww, so precious… now where are my scissors?!
I have the same problem! I have done that with old sentimental things that I have a hard time parting with.
But, you know what I say? Use that trim in your quilt! How cute would that be? Hand stitch it on there in some cool design — or machine stitch it on. You could put it on something else too, like the pocket of a dress for beanie. It IS darling.
But then again, I am the packrat.
Can't wait to see the finished project!!
i say incorporate some how. those edgings are too awesome to throw away. even if its on a different project.
Hey girl! Love the house. Can I get your email and B's email so I can add you to our blog? I think you have my email address. If not, you can have B text my hubby! Thanks!
Likely–that's a good idea….I probably won't use them on this project, but for future use…there's plenty of fabric for a couple quilts.
Em–I'll send you our emails!
