We weren’t going to do a Christmas tree this year. For a lot of reasons it just didn’t make sense. Then last Saturday something just bit us {no, not a bed bug}…and we just had to have a Christmas tree! What were we thinking not having a tree? So we marched ourselves down to the nearest Lowe’s snow capped forest, and grabbed ourselves a discounted, left-over tree. We didn’t really have any decorations and so we immediately set out to making some homemade ornaments. These were not good people. We were unprepared and in a hurry. In short they were UGLY….but I did like the popcorn strands {so cliche, but a first for me}. Monday morning I hustled on over to Target for a few decorations and some lights. I spent the afternoon wrapping presents….and when the Mr. came home he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face…he said he was excited…it finally felt like Christmas. Although we had other decorations up, it was the tree the sealed the deal. It’s a little sparse, under-decorated and uneven…but at the same time, it’s perfect.
Love it!
I've never strung popcorn before. I should one of these days. Was it fun?
That process of elimination is the {rather difficult} way that J and I found out what was 'essential' to us in order to make it feel like the holidays. Your tree is gorge, and it's making me crave a live one. I sure miss that pine smell.
are you guys traveling for the holidays? Hope Beanie is getting psyched for Santa! It has been so nice to encourage good behavior this year to threaten an informative e-mail to Santa! haha! Your tree is so pretty:)
