Checking In and Checking Out

Between PSP who is Student of the Month for November…

… and Lamp who can now stack 8 blocks high (!) (yes, that’s one more than pictured above…I only have 7 on film) my proud mama heart is overflowing with love and gratitude.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t love my kids for what they do or don’t do–achievements and accomplishments included–but it’s exciting to see them growing up and doing some spectacular things nonetheless.  They amaze me everyday.  I’m a lucky, lucky mom.

Did you know it’s National Family Week?  Our local LDS Church has asked us to participate in Family Week by setting aside special time this whole week to spend as a family.  This week, from the hours of 5pm- bedtime we are encouraged to discontinue the use of individual electronics and spend time together.  I read that to mean movie nights and family electronics are A-OK!  We’re also being encouraged to cancel playdates and any other outside commitments during that time and instead focus on our families.  Our family is taking the challenge, which will be easy with Thanksgiving coming up this week.  I might slip in 1 or 2 other posts this week (before 5 pm of course) but if not, know that I’m enjoying this little family of mine.  To read more about the Family Proclamation Challenge read here.

If I don’t see you before Thursday, Happy Thanksgiving!
