Round Top. Ever heard of it? It’s a small town in Texas but it’s also home to one of the largest antique shows in the country. The Round Top antique show happens twice a year, the first weekends in April and October (for you fellow Mormons can you believe our luck? #coincideswithconference). Of course that just so happens to be this weekend so we might try to swing on up.
I don’t think my mind can even process what this event is like. It’s gotta be like Coachella for antiques, but on steriods. From what I’ve read it’s miles and miles and miles of tents, vendors, food, etc. And you can find it all–high end European antiques, to flea market finds. It’s estimated that 2,500 vendors participate with over 10,000 attendees. But it just keeps growing and getting bigger every year! If anyone’s interested in going check out the info here and here.
If we go I’ll be sure to do a re-cap.
Has anyone out there ever been?
Oh, go go go! I bet it's amazing. Probably hard to navigate with kids. I went to Brimfield once (when I was young/unmarried/childless/clueless) and was just blown away by it all. Didn't buy a thing, just took it all in (I didn't know WHAT to buy, and was broke anyway). Definitely do a post if you go – I have never heard of this show.
Round Top is awesome! When I went, a lot of the tents would not let me in with kids and a stroller – just so you know. Have fun!
I have never been for the antique weekends, but it is a really quaint and picturesque town to visit on its own. Have fun!
