I have a lot to be thankful for, my family being at the forefront. My wonderful husband and my sweet little girls really make my life what it is…which is beautiful. I also have wonderful extended family (Hi Grams!), great friends, a nice and comfortable home, food on the table and interests and abilities that enrich my life. I live in a great country. I’m grateful for my God and my Savior Jesus Christ. As a kid the actual tradition and event of Thanksgiving was always a little on the silly side as far as Holidays go–you just eat a really nice meal? As an adult the idea behind an entire holiday being centered on an such an enobling virtue as gratitude, is quite refreshing in it’s simplicity and importance. All this to say I’m really looking forward to Thanksgiving and I have a lot to be grateful for.
I also thought it would be fun to highlight this little video of something I’ve been specifically thankful for these past couple of weeks, and I thought you guys would want to see this cute little scoot in action. I shot this on my new iphone with the 8mm app so it has that old school home movie feel (I love it!). Please be patient as the scoot doesn’t make an appearance until about 25 seconds in. And also, please notice when she stops about half way to figure out if she really wants to come to me or go back to her new favorite stacking toy. Kills me.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
Happy Thanksgiving!
See you next week!
oh gosh you know i love that video.
Oh my goodness, that is soo funny when Lamp pauses, she really is considering her options, looks over her shoulder, thinks about it for a bit but Mum wins, yay. Oh I love it. I want to wake my kids up just so they can see her, they will LOVE this. From your NZ friends 🙂
She is beautiful! Thank you for sharing this joyful moment. Happy Thanksgiving! -Heather in Pittsburgh, PA
This gave me goosebumps and tears. Happy Thanksgiving, indeed.
What a beautiful little angel. That determination will serve her well. God bless your family 🙂
Aw thanks everyone. So heartwarming to hear from friends all over the world. Have a great weekend!
Beautiful!
Oh my gosh I love it!!! She is just so determined and totally adorable. Congrats little Lamp on such an awesome milestone 🙂
I'm curious whatever happened with the fever situation? Did it just eventually go away?
Mel–
Good question….after multiple rounds of blood tests and some other testing they couldn't find a source. Since she still acted healthy they said let's start watching her and stop taking her temperature. So I did…and it's been fine. The temps just went away. The docs said that happens from time to time–fevers with unknown origin– we haven't worried about it since. Thanks for asking!
Best thing I've seen all week! My littlest guy stopped and watched with glee. He loves to see other babies, and that Lamp of yours is a heartbreaker! {especially with those curls at the nape of her neck. Adorable!} Happy thanksgiving!
fantastic! love the video effect too…
That is one of the cutest things I have ever ever seen. She's such a doll!
That little scoot was DARLING. And the way she kept looking back at her toy…and kind of cocked her head to one side in contemplation…oh, I can see why it kills you!
Your little Lamp is absolutely adorable! And look at her scoot across the roomm in seconds flat. She's got it down, with abs of steel, that one. Cheering her on from Minnesota….Happy Thanksgiving, Miggy.

What an adorable little scoot!Seriously brings tears of joy to my eyes, even though I'm a total stranger. I love reading your blog and thank you for sharing your family! You are obviously one special woman to get to be the mama to that beautiful little spirit. Truly chosen, I'm sure of it.
She is so cute! And her scoot is so fluid and effortless. I also noticed that she was about to put the rings on the toy too. She's got great skills!
This made me cry so hard. I am so touched. There is so much to be thankful for. Thank you for sharing.
I'm so proud of her. What a thrill it must be for you to watch her accomplish this. Keep up the good work, all of you! 🙂
Where there's a will, there's a way! That Lamp will accomplish great things! I loved the special effect you used as well as the music. So cute to see her trying to figure out if she should go back to her toy. Happy Thanksgiving!
This is a great video!
I just watched it twice and I know I will be back for more. I can never get enough of little Lamp and this is the best!
So cute! Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh how I love that sweet little girl! We miss her and all of you.
That video gave me chills. I remember that song from a blog i read a while ago… About a little girl named gracie gledhill. Thanks for sharing that beautiful, amazing video. You must be so proud!! What an accomplishment, Little Lamp! You are too cute for words!!
tears. so darling.
OH MY GOSH I LOVE HER
And then she made me cry because of how cute she is and how big she's getting and how determined she is to get places. Nothing's going to stop that girl.
I just watched this again for the 2nd time! I cannot get over her eyes and her face! She is PERFECT! She really looks like a little doll, and I dont know if its the editing on the video or if its just her sweet cheeks and gorgeous eyes but I just wanted to scoop her up and cuddle her! She is gorgeous! AWE! My heart is melted.
I don't even know how I got here, and I did not have an hour to spend reading blogs! I have stuff to do! But I couldn't stop, couldn't stop. Darling girls, definitely awesome. When the challenges are tall, the accomplishments are that much more rewarding– and the payoff so deserved! Isn't having girls wonderful? Someday my two girls (7&8) will be the best of friends (that's what I tell myself). I'm blowing you all a kiss…
xoxo Sharon
