Some one is 1 year old today.
Can you believe it?
An entire year.
One year ago today emotions and adrenaline were running high as we welcomed this beautiful baby girl into the world. I remember that day with piercing clarity. It was a great day…one of the best. The last 12 months have been amazing. We love our little baby. Despite my post last week about how hard things are sometimes, there is of course the flip side of the coin, the side of the coin we see and feel 90% of the time that tells us there is much more joy than frustration. Our lives are shinier, happier, more open and aware and more complete than they were a year ago. We are forever changed.

I love you Baby Lamp. You don't know me, and I don't know you, but your amazing mother has opened the door for so many people with limb differences, and opened the eyes of so many people. You are a beautiful baby and you must be incredibly strong to have agreed to such a unique challenge. Happy Biirthday. You are lovely and special and in one year made such a huge difference to so many people. I can't imagine what amazing things the rest of your life has to offer.

i know i'm a little late to this party. but i just discovered your blog! my extra awesome baby girl was born a year ago on sunday. she went without oxygen at birth and thus has a brain injury. it's been a rough first year. and the 1st bday wasn't much better as we spent it back in the same hospital where she was born. we are still here actually, she's battling RSV and the flu. but she is doing better. anyone, i'm going to continue to catch up on your blog. i'm completely captivated by your story, your gorgeous girls, your outlook and writing style. just wanted to stop by and say hello.
