I’m getting kinda sick of my hair and have been thinking about cutting it for a while. I came across this picture of Keri Russell recently and loved everything about it…especially her hair. I even love the color–and I never dye my hair (but I need to start soon). I used to have my hair shorter for quite a few years and I loved it, but I’m not sure it still has it’s natural wave. But I also like having it long–especially for fancier up-do’s. So I don’t know…it’s a thought.
I love this style and hair cut, but as my hair dresser used to say it’s all in the styling. So I’m a little hesitant to cut my hair just because Keri Russell looks great in this cut. I’ve never really found an ‘inspiration’ picture to all that helpful when getting my hair cut…in the end it never really looks the same. What do you think? Do you use a picture as inspiration or not? And do you think long hair, or short hair is easier to maintain? I often hear people say the same thing about both.
I am so sick of my hair right now. I have had it short for so long that I would love to have it long but growing out curly hair is possibly the longest process in the world. Not sure I can do it. I LOVE this haircut. I used to use Keri Russell as my inspiration when she had long curly hair in the 90's. Except mine probably didn't look very good since I had straight bangs….gag.
I keep my hair short and then do absolutely nothing with it. Seriously. I don't even comb it. So for me, short hair is infinitely easier. But if you want short hair that you have to style every day, I think it's a toss up.
I often use pictures of Reese Witherspoon {when she had short hair} as inspiration when I get my hair cut. I'm probably the world's laziest hair stylist, though. I get it cut short, then feel really accomplished if I manage to put on a headband or something. I don't think I could handle long hair.
I have a couple pictures I've been studying (similar to the Keri pic but with side swept bangs), wondering if the cut will look good on me. It's true, it's all in the styling and that's where I slack. BUT, you have to remember, hair grows back. I say go for it, as I probably will soon.
If anyone can pull the short hair it's you. I've always loved when you had short hair. You make it fun.
I just cut a bunch off this morning. The humidity was killing me, for reals. i love that cut for you! i bet you just need the right product/lack of brushing to make it work on your texture (i wonder what she does, since her hair is so curly?). I also think that her sweater looks like you:)
you could totally pull this off. even if its not the exact same color. go for it.
While I love this haircut and I think it would look great on you, I think it's a bad omen to use Keri Russell as a hair inspiration. When she cut her hair all off in the late 90's, that marked the beginning of the end of the show "Felicity"–I'm still mourning that loss. 🙂
I cut my gait about that length recently and LOVED it. It was easier to make cute although the drying did take some time. The trick to waves is to dry it almost all the way then put it in small buns all over. Let it dry or dry it with a diffuser, undo the buns, shake it out and the the roots a boost with the dryer, spray for some volume and voila! I have half wavy hair and it works like a charm. Now I'm ready to go a lot shorter though…..I'm tired of getting ready every day!
Um commenting from my iPhone makes for some interesting word mixups! Hopefully you can figure out what I was trying to say 🙂
That hair in that pic, I guarentee you took hours to get just right. I have had my hair done like that from naturally straight, and isn't hers pretty naturally curly? That in between look doesn't come naturally to many women….so I'd beware…
I am a fan of short hair and a specific cut…I think it always looks like an intentional style and rarely lends itself to bad hair days.
I like to look at pictures for inspiration, but it's hard when it's not the same color because it really never does look the same. I always wind up using Asian or Hispanic hair for inspiration because it's super dark. Then I can get a better idea of what it could look like on me.
