This weekend was the weekend of skirt making. That’s one thing I love about sewing….instant results. I don’t have a lot of casual skirts that I like to just hang out it and I have a feeling I’m going to want some skirts in San Antonio. I made a couple of skirts for Princess Sparkle and this one above for me–although I’m still working on mine as it needs some alterations. Here are a couple of easy and awesome skirt tutorials. Skirts for mama’s, skirts for kiddos and some for both. Any other great skirt tutorials out there I should know about?
ps. I have a giant birthmark that covers most of my right leg…that’s why it looks all spotty. In case you were wondering…
i'm making this this week!

Very cute, Miggy. Oh, and I must add that I am very envious of that slim and trim tummy of yours! ; ) Those occasional indulgences in banana cream pie and such don't seem to have done you much harm!!! : D
Cute skirt. Thanks for the tutorials, it seems I am always looking for a new one.
Cute skirt!
And spill it…what are the details on the shoes? Loooove!
I love skirts in the summer (here in Seattle spring doesn't offer up much skirt wearing weather.) I have a collection of them I bring out and wear.
We were in Austin in March for SXSW, where my son's band was performing and we went to San Antonio one day, as we always do. I wore skirts the entire week we were in Austin and San Antonio. I love Austin and keep telling my husband we should retire there (his sister lives there and teaches at UT, and his parents are retired there and live across from the BIG retired UT football coach.)
You inspire me to get out my machine and sew up a few skirts for summer.

Miggy, you look fabulous! Now we all see where Ms. PSP gets her svelte figure:) The skirt is great, too! It is so hard to find the stripes going in a flattering direction, no?:) I think that you are right about TX… here is SC I live in sundresses and skirts, because I really only wear shorts to work out or go to the beach:) I have never felt like shorts work for around town. Is that crazy? Maybe bermudas, or the kind that are flowy like a skirt? anyway, I digress… you are a fantastic seamstress and model! XOXO
Thanks everyone.
Aly–Ha! I made that skirt yesterday…a little different, but basically the same.
Linda–thanks! You're sweet.
IMT–Yes, I want to see some of your sewing skills!
Anon–Aw shucks, I do love those shoes….so I got them at Anthro years ago, and they were the lower end of the price range. Anyway, the brand is Kenzie. Good luck!
Mari–Yes totally get your sew on! Also, I'm dying to know what band your son is in…I love music and am always looking for new stuff, or maybe I already know the band???
Suz–Oh you! I'm blushing…and I actually cut the fabric at an angle to get the chevron pattern…if I ever figure the waist band on this skirt out I'll put up a tutorial. Hugs to you and the family!
so cute! you rule.
