Our front porch started looking decked out for Halloween a few weeks ago with the arrival of some 8 legged friends. I’m not sure if there has been some secret government spider testing going on around these parts, but I’ve never seen daddy long legs this big. Finally one landed on the front window so I pulled out the ruler to see how long that leg span is and check it out…
Just shy of 5 inches. Five. That’s crazy.
Although the 3 year is usually scared of spiders, somehow she was perfectly fine squishing her face up to the window for a closer look. I snapped these photos and while I find them an odd mix of creepy and sweet I think they’re very Halloween-ish and I rather like the end result.
Welcome October.
We’ve been waiting for you.
I keep waiting for the unveiling of her new name. 🙂
Perfect Halloween picture of an adorable girl and a HUGE Daddy Long Legs. Really, 5 inches is off the charts!
Love the pictures… They capture the season as well as a curious 3 year old… Love those big, brown eyes… Remind me of another curious, little girl with big, brown eyes!
Yes, large spiders…. Creepy! I feel the chill of Autumn, smell apple cider, and hear the crunch of leaves, while enjoying nature's exuberant burst of color!
Happy Halloween!
Love,
G.G.
so gorgeous
that little one is looking so beautiful! Tell B.-diddy to lock the doors! Cool spiders, too!:)
We just bought our pumpkins, and it has barely started to cool down here. Miss you, your skunk, and your boy-scout uniform!
Yay for October! Love the pictures – I am terrified of spiders actually – but Daddy Long Legs are the only ones that don't bother me – heh. 😀
Wow, that is one big spider. Lovely photos, though. 🙂
yikes! but it goes well with your framed spider that you have. Cool pictures, too.
