So my previously great night time sleeper has been getting up 4-5 times a night. This has been going on for about a week now making me very, very tired. And the 3 year old has also gotten in on the wake up action waking us up last night at 11:30 and again at 5:45 (right after I finished feeding Lampy). And not that I’m keeping track or anything but that means that last night I went to bed at 10:30 (early for me) and woke up at 11:30, 1, 3:30, 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and finally up at 8. Not a good nights sleep. Anyone else deal with these bizarre sleep regressions? Google tells me they’re actually pretty common from 3-4 months, but unless I hear it from people directly I’m not buying it. So please tell me your baby did the same thing and eventually went back to sleeping great once again. Please?
My baby did the exact same thing, and it was the same story with my 3 year old getting in on the chaos by all of a sudden waking up at odd times too crying. We were all very cranky. It was really bad for about 3 weeks, then it just went away.
Yes same thing for me, too! But I didn't have the older child thrown in the mix, so that is brutal…and my baby's nightly waking lasted until she was 7 months old. 🙁 Hang in there!
Same thing. Everyone goes back to sleeping in a few days to a week or so (and then she'll do it again around month 6-7.)
Yay! She's growing!
YES. This happened between 3-4 months for my two. It's sooo frustrating because you just think "I KNOW you can do this, you're just choosing not to." If she isn't better in a couple weeks, let me know and she and I will have a little talk.
same thing for us, too! Audrey just started dropping her 4am feeding, and doing the 12 hr. sleep (she is 6 months old), and G. just stopped getting up in the middle of the night to join the party! Phew!
yes they do. And whenever my baby (or toddler for that matter) do something totally crazy like that I try to remember "it's just a phase" And phases do pass.
I see it all the time….but that doesn't make those sleepless nights any more fun.
We're going through it right now… its the worst eh?
You don't know me…but a friend recommended your blog and I just LOVE it. It always makes my day and makes my mama moments seem a little more normal! I'm feeling your sleep pain right now with my 2 yr old, 1 yr old and 6 month old. Ahhh! Sleep…I need you! I hope you have a better week! 🙂
Another blog I read had a similar experience the very same night you did! You can read about her night here:

Amazing what we live through as Moms!
totally had the three/four month sleep regression. it got a lot better after a couple weeks, but it actually took til about six months before we got back to only one wakeup (the same thing the little miss had already achieved at three months!), which is where we still are today at almost eleven months.
hey, at least she's a faster eater now, right?
