As a lifelong + active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and as a woman I have proudly cast my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. By protecting a woman’s bodily autonomy, they are supporting religious freedom as many religions like Judaism and Islam, believe in the right to abortion. (In fact, Judaism actually mandates abortion in many instances. PBS recently did an interview with 3 religious leaders about this. Google it.) Additionally, my faith values agency. Giving women the agency to choose abortion care, like in the instance of my friend (and fellow RS presidency member) who had a baby with a terminal illness and was able to CHOOSE an early labor (abortion) so she could hold her baby while she died peacefully in her arms vs. being forced to carry to term, is a value I support. Not to mention for the thousands of SA survivors. Additionally, it’s time to end the hatred and vitriol against immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community (anti-Christian) and the rise of White Supremacy and Christian Nationalism (again, ANTI-CHRISTIAN). I want a president who will do something about the rampant gun violence in our country, who will support + build up the middle class, who has a health plan and who believes in Democracy and the rule of law. Lastly, I will never vote for someone who has said that some disabled people should “just die” (per his nephew). 1. Do you have a voting plan? Also, if possible I urge you to vote early. You don’t want to risk getting sick, etc on Nov. 5th. 2. If you’re feeling anxious, consider turning your anxiety into ACTION. This year is the first year I have ever phone banked and canvassed. (Picture 2+3). You can phone bank with @knock4democracy or through @thedemocrats and call your local Dem office to canvas. 3. Lastly, consider driving people to the polls. This year, I signed up with @rideshare2vote so that I can put my accessible van to good use and drive disabled voters to the polls. You can do it too!
